The main effects of hyperbaric oxygen chamber are only seen with consecutive long-term therapy. The usual protocol is 40-70x, at least 5-6x per week. Results can be achieved with shorter-term therapy, but are less lasting.

Hospitals use high-pressure oxygen chambers, usually above 2.0 ATA. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy up to 1.5 ATA is considered low pressure. A growing body of research shows that this is effective and even preferable for problems affecting the brain and nervous system.
